TAITRA, led by President & CEO Simon Wang, attended the WTCA Board Meeting and the 55th Global Business Forum (GBF) in Marseille, France, from April 5 to 9. This annual event gathered over 500 participants from 56 countries to foster business connections and explore new opportunities.

Hosted by WTC Marseille Provence, the 2025 GBF focuses on Mediterranean market opportunities under the theme “Gateway to the Mediterranean.” Leveraging WTCA’s global network, the forum connects 31 key industries, including agriculture, e-commerce, consumer goods, health tech, construction, and industrial solutions, creating a high-impact B2B matchmaking platform for global trade expansion.

In 2021, TAITRA Chairman James Huang nominated President & CEO Simon Wang for a WTCA Board seat, and he successfully secured one of only two seats from Asia-Pacific among 21 board members. Since then, Wang has actively engaged in WTCA initiatives, strengthening Taiwan’s global trade presence. Under his leadership, TWTC won the WTCA "Champion Award for Innovation" in 2024 and received “Premier Accredited Member Award”, highlighting its outstanding contributions.

Founded in 1970, the WTCA connects 306 members across 88 economies, including business hubs, trade organizations, logistics centers, and free trade zones. TAITRA joined WTCA in 1981 as TWTC and has since utilized this network to enhance global trade promotion and market expansion, reinforcing Taiwan’s presence in international business.
